| Description DocMoto is a software product that manages electronic files of any kind, but is typically used for documents, drawings, spreadsheets, images etc. It delivers a number of key benefits to an organisation. Firstly it provides a central, secure, fully searchable storage repository that can be accessed across either the Internet or internal network. Secondly it provides a mechanism by which users can collaboratively work on files without overwriting each others work. Thirdly it keeps a complete history of all versions (revisions) that a file has been through. DocMoto is a multi-user system with users accessing a DocMoto file repository through Windows Explorer, so it is simple and intuitive to use. From a user’s perspective to work with a file in DocMoto is almost the same as working with a file on a standard shared network drive. It couldn’t really be any easier. To deliver powerful searching DocMoto supports full text and Meta data searches. Full text searching allows the user to search the full content of a document rather than just the documents name. Meta data searching allows a user to search for key data such as author name, subject or keywords. By default DocMoto provides full text searching for all MS Office file types (eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint) the ability to search other file types such as PDF, Autodesk DWF and Microsoft Project can also be added. DocMoto incorporates a simple but extremely powerful security system, so users can be restricted in the files they can access. To simplify administration and usage DocMoto’s security system is integrated with Windows security, so user details do not need entering twice. DocMoto has a notification system, this informs users of events such as new files being added, or files being updated or even deleted. Using DocMoto’s notification system users are kept right up to date of events they are interested in. A common application for DocMoto is to replace an organisations shared network drive. Most organisations have a shared network drive or folder where commonly accessed material is stored. This drive almost invariably has no full text or content searching, and no mechanism for managing shared files or documents or providing a revision history. To transfer the contents of this drive to DocMoto is a simple as using the mouse to drag the contents of the shared drive onto the DocMoto icon within Windows Explorer. Literally within minutes you have secure, full text searching, with file control and revision history. That’s how easy it is. DocMoto can be run on Windows XP (home or professional), Windows 2000 or 2003. DocMoto will not run under Windows Vista. DocMoto does not require any additional software such as web server or database (see **) ** DocMoto Professional can store data in an external Microsoft SQL server if required. |
