Using NeoOffice to create reports
This section will show how to set up some simple reports in NeoOffice. To use NeoOffice an ODBC driver will need to be installed, and a user should be added to the dmGroup in the database. This guide is only an overview of the types of reports that can be made, there are many tutorials on using NeoOffice available on the Internet. Alternatively as NeoOffice is based on Open Office, the Open Office documentation can also be used.
Getting Started
A varierty of reports are available in NeoOffice, depending on which package is used. Through Calc, DataPilot can be used to create interactive tables. Alternatively through Base, reports can be created through the reporting tool.
In both cases the DocMoto database must be registered within NeoOffice. To do this select menu NeoOffice -> New -> Database. This will display the database wizard:
Select "Connect to an existing database" and change the drop down box to ODBC. Select Next.
On Step 2, select "Browse" to see a list of databases that have been enabled through the ODBC driver. Select the Docmoto Database. Select Next.
On Step 3, enter the details of the user created in the dmgroup.
On step 4, ensure the "Yes, register the database for me" is selected.
The database can then be saved, this allows the various packages within NeoOffice to access the database.
