DocMoto repositories
are accessed through Window’s native file manager Windows
Explorer. Files and whole folders can be dragged and dropped
or copied and pasted.
The familiar user interface means users require minimal if
any training to use DocMoto. Anybody who has ever used a shared
network drive, or copied a file from a digital camera has
all the skills necessary.
DocMoto provides a powerful mechanism
to support collaborative working. A checked out file (marked
blue) cannot be modified by other users until it is checked
back in.
When adding or checking a file back
into DocMoto, comments and meta data can be added.
DocMoto can display the full information
history for a file. It visually displays all the revisions along
with full details.
DocMoto provides three search
mechanisms including powerful full text (content) searching.
As standard DocMoto can search the contents of all Microsoft
Office file formats. Other file formats are also supported.
The My Files feature allows a user
to see at a glance what files they have checked out and are
working on.
DocMoto supports a powerful
notification system. Users can subscribe to folders or files
and be notified of events such as new or updated files.
DocMoto provides a simple but very
powerful security system to restrict access to folders and files.
The system supports as many groups as necessary, and users can
be a member of more than one group.
File access rights can be applied
to both files and folders.
The DocMoto server provides full
metric information. At any time the administrator can easily
see who is working on which files.
DocMoto‘s recycle bin feature
ensures that files accidentally deleted can be simply recovered.
